SweepKit Privacy Policy

Introduction

SweepKit (“the App”) is a macOS utility designed to help developers reclaim disk space by scanning for and removing development-related caches, build artifacts, and unused files.

Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how SweepKit handles information when you use the App.

Personal Data Collection

SweepKit does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal data.

Specifically, the App does not:

  • Collect personal information
  • Use analytics or tracking technologies
  • Use advertising identifiers
  • Send crash reports to external servers
  • Require user accounts or registration
  • Upload files or file metadata to any external service

All functionality operates entirely on your device.

File System Access

SweepKit may request permission to access folders on your Mac in order to scan for development caches and build artifacts.

This access follows macOS privacy protections:

  • User Controlled Access — You explicitly grant permission through the macOS system dialog.
  • Sandboxed Environment — The app runs inside the macOS App Sandbox and can only access folders you authorize.
  • Local Processing Only — All scanning and file operations occur locally on your device.
  • No File Data Transmission — File names, paths, sizes, or contents are never transmitted outside your device.
  • Persistent Access Bookmark — If permission is granted, a security-scoped bookmark may be stored locally so you do not need to re-grant permission every time the app launches. You may revoke access at any time using macOS privacy settings.

In-App Purchases

SweepKit may offer optional premium features through Apple’s StoreKit framework.

All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. SweepKit does not receive or store:

  • Payment details
  • Credit card information
  • Apple ID credentials
  • Billing information

Purchase validation is performed locally using Apple’s StoreKit APIs.

Third-Party Services

SweepKit does not integrate third-party SDKs, advertising frameworks, analytics services, or tracking tools.

The only external communication performed by the App may be with Apple’s App Store services for:

  • In-app purchase transactions
  • Purchase verification

Data Storage

SweepKit stores a small amount of non-personal application data locally on your device. This may include:

  • Onboarding completion status
  • Security-scoped bookmark for folder access

This information is stored locally using macOS system storage and is never transmitted externally.

Data Retention

Because SweepKit does not collect personal data, it does not retain personal data on external servers. Any locally stored settings remain on your device until you delete the App or reset its data.

Children’s Privacy

SweepKit is not directed toward children under the age of 13. The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes occur, the updated version will be posted with a revised “Last updated” date.

Your Privacy Rights

Since SweepKit does not collect or store personal data, there is no personal data for us to access, modify, or delete. All app data remains locally on your device.
